Helping adults over 40 restore the deep, natural sleep their brains were designed to have.
Welcome
I’m Dr. Andrew Collins.
For 18 years I worked in sleep neuroscience — first at one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, then in private research, and now full-time in service of the people most doctors have given up on.
If you’ve landed on this page, there’s a good chance you’re one of them.
You’re not sleeping the way you used to. You wake up at 3 AM with your mind already racing. You’ve tried melatonin and it stopped working — or made everything worse.
You’ve tried magnesium, meditation apps, blackout curtains, lavender oil. You’ve read the same articles online a hundred times. None of it has fixed the thing that’s actually broken.
I want you to know something:
It’s not you. It’s not aging. It’s not stress.
There is a specific, identifiable, biological reason your sleep changed. And once you understand what it is, you can fix it.
That’s why this website exists. That’s why I do this work.
My Story
I didn’t plan to leave Big Pharma.
I had what most people would call a perfect career — a seven-figure salary, a senior research role, a team I respected, and a comfortable life.
I spent my days studying sleep at the molecular level. I helped design clinical trials. I sat in meetings where billion-dollar decisions were made.
But over time, something started to bother me.
The sleep medications we were developing weren’t fixing anything. They were sedating people. There’s a difference. True sleep is a regenerative process — a rebuild of your brain and body, deeply orchestrated by hormones, neurotransmitters, and your circadian rhythm. Sedation is a chemical knockout. The body lies still, but the rebuild never happens.
And patients were getting worse, not better. They’d take a pill, sleep through the night, and wake up feeling worse than the day before. The cognitive decline, the weight gain, the brain fog, the depression — none of it improved.
Because the underlying problem was never being addressed.
The turning point came when my own aunt — at 58 years old, after years of poor sleep — was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. The decline was fast. The treatments her doctors prescribed couldn’t stop it. She passed within a few years.
After her funeral, I sat in my car for a long time.
The next Monday, I gave my notice.
What I Learned at Oxford
For a year after leaving, I traveled. I read. I dug through medical literature most working physicians never have time for.
The most important thing I found was buried in an old archive at Oxford — a small research paper from 1954.
A team of British researchers had been studying a specific compound found in tart cherries. Their early results suggested it could restore natural sleep at the biological level — without any of the dependency or next-day grogginess of the sleep drugs of that era.
The study disappeared. The funding was pulled. The lead researcher retired quietly. I asked colleagues about it. Almost none had heard of it.
I eventually understood why. There’s no money in a fruit. There’s a great deal of money in pills.
But the science was real. And once I started building on it, the picture got clearer.
I discovered that the human “sleep pressure system” — the network of chemicals and hormones that allows your brain to rebuild itself each night — begins to break down in your 40s. Not from aging itself. From decades of cumulative stress, light exposure, broken circadian rhythms, and nutrient depletion.
I also discovered that this system could be repaired. Not with sedation. With the right compounds, in the right doses, in the right delivery system.
That research became the foundation of everything I do today.
How I Work
I don’t run a traditional medical practice anymore. I run a research-and-education practice. My focus is on three things:
1. Teaching the science. Most patients have never had anyone properly explain what’s happening in their bodies. I spend a great deal of time on this — through emails, articles, videos, and direct conversations. An informed patient makes better decisions.
2. Developing solutions that actually work. I formulated Yu Sleep — the supplement I’m best known for — because I couldn’t find anything on the market that respected the underlying biology. Every ingredient was selected for a specific purpose. Every dose was chosen based on the research, not on what was cheap to manufacture. The delivery system was designed to bypass the absorption problems that destroy 78% of the active compounds in standard pills.
3. Walking alongside people. I write to my patients regularly — sometimes weekly. I answer their questions. I tell them when they should see a specialist in person. I tell them what supplements to stop buying. I tell them the truth, even when it isn’t what they want to hear.
My Promise
I built everything on one belief:
People over 40 deserve better than what the medical system is currently offering them.
If you trust me with your sleep, your brain, or your long-term health — I will spend my career earning that trust.
I will never recommend something I wouldn’t give to my own parents. I will never use fear to pressure you into something. I will never hide the science behind marketing language.
That’s what I do.
I’m glad you found me.
